Looking up through the trees in the secret garden to the rear of Changdeokgung palace, in Seoul, South Korea. The rear garden of Changdeokgung was created at the same time as the palace, in 1405. The garden contains over 26,000 trees, with over a hundred different species.
The secret garden bears little resemblence to western gardens, very little landscaping has been done to the garden, and buildings were constructed so as to be in harmony with the natural surroundings.
