Flowering Ground Ivy (Glechoma hederacea) photographed in ultraviolet. Some flowers have hidden UV 'nectar guides' that are visible to bees and other insects, which can see ultraviolet light. Ground Ivy does not appear to have a UV pattern, but it does exhibit the same dark area near the throat of the flower that can be seen in visible light.
The plant spreads through its roots and pieces of stem can also re-root, making it a weed in the eyes of many gardeners.
