Looking across a field of dandelions next to Farndon Road, near Lubenham (though technically in the parish of Marston Trussell). This part of land is used as a hay meadow, in Spring the grass is interspersed with thousands of flowering dandelions.
This photograph was taken using only ultraviolet light, which reveals the dandelions' UV markings. In UV the centres of the flowers appear much darker than they do in visible light. It is thought that these markings may help guide insects that can see ultraviolet light to where the pollen / nectar is located.
