Yellow flower of a cultivar of Tropaeolum majus, commonly known as Nasturtium, photographed in reflected ultraviolet light.
The bottom 3 petals in ultraviolet are fairly similar to the flower's appearance in visible light. The petals sport the same dark patch at the base.
The upper petals appear quite different, with a much larger dark area than we see in visible light. Some of the darker lines we see in visible light are still present in UV, while others are lost due to the lack of contrast with the much larger dark areas of the petals.
The pollen covering the anthers is darker in UV, and in this false-colour image has a slight purple tint to it.
White balance set based on PTFE target.
2 images combined in Photoshop to remove flash from bottom left corner and provide slightly better exposure.
