Common Cowslip in flower [UV]

Common Cowslip in flower [UV]

Description

Title:
Common Cowslip in flower [UV]
Caption / Description:

Ultraviolet photo of the flowers of a Common Cowslip (Primula officinalis) plant. In UV the flowers take on a much darker tone than they do in visible light. The slightly darker orange markings we see on the petals in visible light are lost in ultraviolet, and we instead see the petals getting quite dark towards the base.
