NIR photo of a flower cluster of a Dianthus barbatus plant, commonly known as Sweet William. The plant is a popular garden cultivar with many varieties.
In infrared the flower appears very different than from in visible light. The tonal variations of the patterning in the petals is lost, and the different parts of the flower all appear very similar in tone.
