Profile view of the flower cluster of a Lotus corniculatus plant, photographed in near-infrared light. The plant is commonly known as Birds-foot trefoil or Birdsfoot deervetch.
In infrared the top petal of the flowers loses the darker line markings seen in visible light. The stalk, sepals, and surrounding grass are all much brighter in IR, matching the brightness of the flowers.
