Conopodium majus (Pignut) flowers

Description

Title:
Conopodium majus (Pignut) flowers
Caption / Description:

Three umbels of a Conopodium majus (Pignut) plant. The middle umbel has finished flowering and lost its petals, while the left and right ones are in full flower.
The plant is commonly found in meadows and has a tuber similar in size and flavour to a chestnut. Pigs may dig these out and eat them, hence the common name of Pignut.
