The area around Yeolsangjinwon Spring (열상진원 샘) in Gyeongbokgung (경복궁) Palace, Seoul (서울), South Korea (대한민국).
Yeolsangjinwon Spring was built in 1395, when Gyeongbokgung was first constructed. The spring was used as a source of drinking water, and also fills the Hyangwonji (향원지) pond.
Located in the rear garden of Gyeongbokgung, Hyangwonji pond was originally built in 1456. It was reconstructed in 1873, when the Hyangwonjeong pavilion was added to the centre, and the Chwihyanggyo (취향교) bridge added to allow access to the pavilion.
