I’ve had luck with stellar repair for photo when a jpeg or raw looked completely unreadable. It won’t fix every layer based issue in psds, but for standard photo files it’s pulled back a few shots I thought were gone. Good reminder to run integrity checks more often.

The ‘stream read error’ was on some original files, not the backups.
